While I was in New York, so was Banksy, he has been doing something new everyday during October. http://www.banksyny.com
Ive never seen a real life Banksy before, so to see one that has been there a matter of hours was quite exciting. It was a concrete confessional, such a clever idea and it worked really well. It was down a side street, inside a concrete slab and it would have been easy to miss had it not been surrounded by people. This was just one of the many cool things we experienced in New York, I love it there!

Models at MelenStudios
Had a great day honing my portrait skills at MelenStudios yesterday. Thanks to Phil for organising it all, and to the three fantastic models, who were lovely and an absolute pleasure to work with.
This is a perfect opportunity to work using your creativity with different equipment, using different set ups and locations, and gives you the chance to get some great shots for your portfolio.
I would definitely do another one of these days and I recommend it to anyone who wants to practice portraiture.
Here are some of the shots I got;

Private lives for public consumption
Has Arne Svenson violated his neighbours privacy?
I personally like the idea and think the images have been done in a very artistic way. Its very clever, taking everyday activities and turning them into art, saying that though, I'm not sure how I would feel if someone had a telefoto lens aimed at my window!

A picture of you
I recently held my first portrait day at Melen Studios. I was quite exhausted by the end of it but it was a great experience and I learnt so much. If everyday could be that much fun I would be a very happy person.
I had such a varied group of subjects, which was a brilliant but it was also a bit of a challenge, I needed multiple different lighting set ups and to make sure I stuck to the tight timeframes for each appointment. After lots of planning and preparation before the day and organisation on the day, it all went smoothly, so thank you to those who helped me and to all that came. I'm looking forward to the next one already.

Kew Gardens
Last weekend, for the first time, I joined a photography group for a day out, http://www.meetup.com/londonphotos/
They run a number of sessions, courses, talks and days out for all people interested in photography, and
this trip was to Kew Gardens, which was also a first for me.
The group was very well organised, friendly & helpful and it was really nice to bounce ideas off other people with an interest in photography.
Kew is such a beautiful place, its packed full of textures, architecture and colour, which is a pleasure to photograph.
