A picture of you

I recently held my first portrait day at Melen Studios. I was quite exhausted by the end of it but it was a great experience and I learnt so much. If everyday could be that much fun I would be a very happy person.
I had such a varied group of subjects, which was a brilliant but it was also a bit of a challenge, I needed multiple different lighting set ups and to make sure I stuck to the tight timeframes for each appointment. After lots of planning and preparation before the day and organisation on the day, it all went smoothly, so thank you to those who helped me and to all that came. I'm looking forward to the next one already.

Kew Gardens

Last weekend, for the first time, I joined a photography group for a day out, http://www.meetup.com/londonphotos/
They run a number of sessions, courses, talks and days out for all people interested in photography, and
this trip was to Kew Gardens, which was also a first for me.
The group was very well organised, friendly & helpful and it was really nice to bounce ideas off other people with an interest in photography.
Kew is such a beautiful place, its packed full of textures, architecture and colour, which is a pleasure to photograph.

Photograph of Jesus

If you have ever wondered what goes on inside a photo archive then watch this video. I work at Getty Images and have been to the archive, it really is incredibly vast and impressive. Ive also seen this video many times and still think its brilliant!

Bonnie Scotland

Me and my husband went to Scotland over the May bank holiday. We decided, for the first time ever to do a driving holiday, which ended up being a 1400 mile round trip! Initially I was a bit apprehensive about spending so much of my holiday in a car, bickering about directions and his bad driving :-), however, there was no need to worry as we had a great time. Scotland is truly a stunning place and we will definitely be going back! Here are some of the many pics I took...

Big and Beautiful

I recently did my first maternity shoot, with my gorgeous friend who was about 20 weeks pregnant at the time. It was a great experience capturing such a special time for her and I'm so happy she can have these pictures as memories. This was my personal favourite from the shoot, the rest she can keep private...

First time for everything...

Hi, so this is my first ever post on my first ever blog. I hope to keep it updated with the photos I take and new skills and techniques I learn from now on. Along with anything which I hope will be interesting to others, whether you are interested in photography or not.
Be back soon!
